When retractable mesh is the right call

Retractable mesh earns its place on wide openings where a fixed screen would block the view all the time. The mesh sits in a slim side cassette and glides across only when you want it. When you want the full opening back, it rolls away and almost disappears.

Mesh materials we use

The right material depends on the job. For everyday insect protection we use a fine fibreglass or polyester mesh that resists sagging and holds its shape in Singapore humidity. For pet and security work we move up to coated or 304 stainless steel mesh that takes far more force before it gives.

Frames and seals matter as much as the mesh. We fit aluminium frames, magnetic strips, brush seals and quality tracks so the screen sits flush and does not leave gaps at the corners where insects get in.

Cleaning and maintenance

Mesh is easy to look after. For a quick clean, vacuum the screen with a soft brush head to lift dust, then wipe it with a damp cloth and a little mild soap. Magnetic screens peel off so you can clean the mesh and the frame at the sink, and retractable screens wipe down in place.

A clean every few weeks keeps airflow strong and the mesh looking neat. We show you how to remove and refit each system on installation day so upkeep stays simple.
